Quad mix cost is one of the first things men ask about, and a straight answer helps. At Bliss MD, it works in two parts. Your first visit is a full evaluation. After that, quad mix becomes a monthly program that covers your medication plus visits and lab work as needed.
We don’t publish prices, because your plan is individual. This guide explains what’s included, what moves your monthly number and how to pay. Quad mix is offered at our Lincoln Park and Hanover Park clinics.

Quad Mix Cost at a Glance
- Step one: a full first evaluation, separate from the program
- Then: one monthly program for medication, visits and lab work as needed
- Supplies: syringes, alcohol pads and a sharps container, provided
- Insurance: usually doesn’t cover these medicines; we don’t bill insurance
- Ways to pay: HSA, FSA and CareCredit financing
- Your number: given on a free 15-minute call
Quad mix is compounded for your prescription by U.S.-based, FDA-inspected compounding pharmacies. It is not an FDA-approved drug. See our main page on quad mix injections in Chicago.
Your First Visit Is a Full Evaluation
ED is rarely just about one organ. It’s often linked to hormones, blood sugar, blood vessels and weight. So before anything is prescribed, Dr. Anand Thakkar’s team takes a full look at:
- Hormones, including testosterone
- Blood sugar and diabetes risk
- Chronic conditions and the medicines you take
- Weight and overall metabolic health
This first visit is separate from the monthly program. It tells us whether quad mix, trimix or bimix makes sense, or whether something else should come first. Your first supervised test dose in the office is part of this first visit.
What the Monthly Program Covers
After your evaluation, care runs as one monthly program. It includes:
- Your medication. Quad mix, trimix or bimix, compounded at the strength set for you.
- Visits as needed. Check-ins and dose changes when your plan calls for them.
- Lab work as needed. Rechecks when your plan calls for them.
- Supplies. Syringes, alcohol pads and a sharps container are provided.
After you start in the office, supplies are sometimes shipped to your home.
What Shapes Your Quad Mix Cost
Because treatment is individualized, so is the monthly figure. The main factors:
- Strength. Your mix is compounded at a strength chosen for you.
- Amount per dose. Set at your test dose, then fine-tuned.
- How often you use it. We generally recommend no more than 2–3 times a week, and never more than once in 24 hours.
- Formula. Some men do well on trimix or bimix. Compare them in trimix or quad mix injections.
- Early adjustments. Changes in the first weeks can affect how long a vial lasts.
We’ll talk through your goals first, then explain the quad mix cost that matches your plan.
How to Compare Quad Mix Prices Online
Numbers you see online often aren’t comparable. A vial from a pharmacy is not the same thing as physician-led care. Ask what each figure includes:
| Does it include… | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| A physician evaluation | ED can be tied to heart, hormone or blood sugar issues |
| A supervised test dose | It shows how you respond before you inject at home |
| Training | Good technique helps with minimizing side effects |
| Dose changes | Your first dose is rarely your final dose |
| Supplies | Syringes, alcohol pads and a sharps container add up |
| Follow-up | Someone should answer your questions once you’re home |
A clear answer to each line tells you more than a headline figure.
Does Insurance Cover Quad Mix?
Usually not. Insurance plans usually don’t cover these compounded ED medicines, and Bliss MD doesn’t bill insurance. That keeps things simple: you’ll know your monthly figure before you start.
Compounded medicines are regulated differently from approved drugs, which is part of why coverage is rare. The FDA’s compounding Q&A explains the difference.
HSA, FSA and CareCredit
Bliss MD accepts HSA and FSA funds, which can stretch your budget because they’re pre-tax. IRS Publication 502 lists prescribed medicines and medical care for a diagnosed condition as qualified medical expenses. Plan rules vary, so check with your plan administrator.
Prefer to spread payments out? CareCredit financing is available.
Keeping Your Monthly Cost Predictable
- Use it as prescribed. Don’t re-inject if a dose doesn’t work; call us so we can adjust it.
- Keep it cold. UCSF Health notes these medicines slowly lose strength when they aren’t refrigerated.
- Keep your follow-ups. A well-set dose means fewer wasted doses.
- Ask about trimix or bimix. For some men they’re enough, and we’ll tell you if one may fit.
More practical tips are in quad mix dosage, test dose and side effects.

Quad Mix Cost FAQs
How much does quad mix cost per month?
It depends on your plan, so we don’t publish a single number. Your strength, how often you use it and your formula all play a part. We’ll give you your own figure on a free 15-minute call.
What does the monthly program include?
Your medication, plus visits and lab work as needed. Syringes, alcohol pads and a sharps container are provided.
Is the first visit part of the monthly program?
No. Your first visit is a full evaluation of your hormones, blood sugar, chronic conditions and weight, and it’s separate. The monthly program starts after that.
Does insurance cover quad mix?
Usually not. Insurance plans usually don’t cover these compounded medicines, and Bliss MD doesn’t bill insurance.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes. Bliss MD accepts HSA and FSA funds. Check with your plan administrator if you’re unsure what your plan allows.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. CareCredit financing is available if you’d like to spread out payments.
Does trimix cost less than quad mix?
At Bliss MD, trimix is set up the same way as quad mix: one monthly program after your first evaluation. Your formula is chosen for how you respond, not for price.
Why do some online quad mix prices look lower?
Many online figures are for a pharmacy vial alone. They may leave out a physician evaluation, a supervised test dose, training and follow-up visits.
